Roslyn Davis has been sculpting Australian Wildlife as a hobby for over 30 years, with a focus on Australia's less well known creatures and endangered species. Roslyn works in earthenware & terracotta paper clay to create pieces that are light but strong; each with its own personality.
Roslyn says" Australia is blessed with so many beautiful and unique creatures. Australians need a greater awareness of all their native wildlife, not just kangaroos and koalas."
As a self-taught artist, "I found no-one was teaching what I wanted to create so I developed the skills & techniques to do my craft myself", in recent years Roslyn has been exploring functional beauty by combining her sculptures with functional glazed work such as garden watering pieces & occasional tableware.
